Sewing 101: ReadyMade video tutorial

I think a lot of people have an interest in sewing but are easily overwhelmed by the technology or the cost of buying a machine. ReadyMade Magazine has created a video sewing tutorial that helps people get over that first hump.

I was planning to offer a Sewing 101 class this fall in Gainesville, but wasn't organized in time to offer it through the UF Leisure Courses program. Anyone out there interested in learning how to sew on a sewing machine? I might be able to find another spot to host a class. If so, drop a comment here or email me at sassycrafter (at) gmail (dot) com.

I am really interested in a simple sewing class, to learn the ins and outs of the machine and so on. The only thing offered here in Gainesville seems to be for an older crowd....

I am also interested in a sewing class. I've never taken one and I don't really know anything about it but I really want to learn. Is my lack of experience a problem?

Steph--definitely not! I'll be offering a class through the UF Leisure Course program designed for brand-new beginners. Check back here or the Leisure Course site in January for details.

I just received a sewing machine for Christmas and I have never sewed before so I was interested in lessons. I will look into the leisure courees offered by UF in the spring.

Hi! Any chance you might teach for the community ed courses at Santa Fe College? Myself and one friend work here (there may be others) and are definately looking for sewing classes. Thanks!

It looks like my sewing classes aren't on the UF Leisure Course schedule yet. :-( I'll check with UF and also try calling Santa Fe. Hopefully I can get them offered somewhere!

Kim, I am desperately trying to find a sewing class to take! If you are going to be offering a course please be sure to post! I have had a little experience in sewing but need much more! This fall I will be entering college and I am really thinking about majoring in Fashion Merchandising, so I really would like to take a sewing course!
